Our Pilot

Tecvisions Balloon Rides are Piloted by Tim Cloyd who is an FAA Certified Hot Air Balloon Commercial Pilot and Certified Flight Instructor. He has nearly 1,200 hours flying hot air balloons. Tim served on the Board of Directors of the Balloon Federation of America (BFA) from 2015–2021. BFA is the National Balloon Organization. He has flown a number of unique flights called Long Jumps (LJ) at altitudes as high as 17,500 feet at the amazing speed of over 100 Mph. His experience includes 11 LJ flights that varied in distance from 105 to 413 miles which all together total over 2,100 miles. Tim is an extremely safety conscious pilot and flight instructor.
